Mounted the cap, loaded in the sleeping platform and some gear, and mounted/wired lights (forward hellas, rear amber).

Getting the trailer ready as we speak. Should be a good time! Can't wait to see everyone!

My last minute brake repair is done. I'm glad I prioritized this, as the usual squeeler tabs didn't. One pad was completely worn out (no friction material left, only the metal backing plate!)
The packing continues...

Sounds like everyone had a good time. I didn't get many pictures, hopefully others will add theirs.

Now that the dust has settled, and the first MOTL IV is in the books, we want to thank our amazing group who attended our event. The group was extraordinary, the ride was epic, and the weather...well the weather added a little extra to the experience! (See all those E's?!)

We'd like to thank staff member Steve (booth9c1ss) for all the help, it was much appreciated. It's amazing what can happen when a well thought out plan comes together. His knowledge of radio comms & equipment, map reading, and teamwork are what helps keep events like this going strong.
Thank you for supporting our cause. It takes an incredible amount of time, effort, and pre-running to provide the amazing adventures that we offer. We thank you for your continued support and we look forward to your next outting with Northeast Overland!

Hey all! Going to be starting the configuring for the rear facing high mounting light. I will be mounting a small pod to my roof rack. How does everyone wire their light? I was thinking of tapping into the tail light but then it would run all the time at night. I only want this to be temporary and I am not that great with electrical. I just want the simplest way possible. If there is one

The easiest way is to run a fused line through a switch in the cab you can turn on and off. Run from a fuse panel using an add a fuse and only run the power wire to the rear pod that you will be using. This will make running the wire easier.
Ground your light to a closer spot near the rear of the rig so fishing a wire to the front just for a ground won't necessary. I actually have mine ground to my metal roof rack about 3"'s from where it's mounted. Having it on a switch will allow you to turn it off and on at will. .

This is EXACTLY what I did!

A good, spare air filter was proven to be highly desired from the June MOTL. And also to note, if you're running a doorless or open top rig, a dust mask/breathing system is highly recommended

I'm contemplating a mild rear lift to help with the increased load of camping equipment. The relatively soft zr2 suspension is great with an empty bed, but sags a bit with the cap and supplies. Nothing major, just a little boost.

And what would a mild rear lift include?

As you probably know, I have already installed longer/stronger shackles but they simply move the axle further away from the frame (no change in ride or capacity).
I am considering two options. Adding or substituting leafs in the spring pack, or swapping the shocks for ones with integrated coils (I had these on the ZR2 blazer in the past with great success).

The absolute simplest way would be to had the light powered by a trailer plug. Get a trailer end plug (flat-4, the end with three males and a female). Power from the brown wire (tail light circuit) and ground to the white wire. Select a low draw light for your dust light (led). The light would be on anytime your parking lights (headlights) are on. If you use a magnetic mount, the whole thing could be easily unplugged removed if you don't want it for the rest of the year.Pemrick23 wrote:Hey all! The downside of this setup is that you can't turn it on/off from inside the cab other than the headlight switch while it's plugged in.

Unfortunately, I am writing this in an attempt to sell mine and my teammate's Spots for the August MOTL. I have an unbelievable opportunity at work that could be career/life changing that I cannot pass up. We have discussed our options and have decided to sell our spots. I know this is somewhat short notice, but if someone out there was hoping to go and missed the cut off date, here is your opportunity! Our loss, your gain! If we cannot find a team to take our spots, we WILL make this work! Please message me if interested and we can work out the details.

Will we be staying in a campground every night, or sleeping out on the trail area?
