We are at it again. And this time, you are definitely going to want to bring a camera!
We are hoping that you can make it to the great State of Maine and see why everyone travels from afar to view our beautiful scenery and explore some coveted dirt roads during this perfect time of year! We will show you some of the Northeast's most scenic spots for sight-seeing, great camping, and just plain have a fun family adventure!
This ride will have a little taste of everything for everyone. From secluded ponds, tight rocky 2-track trails to mountains as far as the eye can see! We'll offer camping as primitive as one wants to get. Each morning, we will set off for the day to explore more of the area before pitching our tents under the millions of stars at the next remote campsite. Your 4 wheel drive will be used in several circumstances and there are even a few area's where you could use your low range too...Want to combine the best of Overlanding with some of the most epic leaf peeping known to exist?! This is the ride to do it and we will Guide you deep into the wilderness where sightings of moose, deer and bear could be waiting around every corner.
Our end locations on Saturday & Sunday will be well within any fuel range and everyone will be able to top off Saturday and Sunday. Carrying extra fuel will not be necessary for the FFT. Your favorite pair of hiking boots and extra camera batteries are highly recommended tho!!
What: Northeast Overland's 6th Annual Fall Foliage Tour

Warm clothing, basic extrication and recovery equipment, camping/sleeping provisions, food/water/fuel, spare parts/tools/knowledge, camera/batteries, etc.
All dogs must be short-leashed and or secured at all times. No free running or roaming around at all for everyone's comfort and safety. There are many different ways to secure one's beloved dog so as not to disrupt anyone's time during the event. Thank you for your understanding.
Required Equipment:
• Five (5) 30" or bigger really good condition AT or MT tires (This means a full-size spare (5 of the same size))
• Front and rear recovery points
• Good working and properly tuned CB radio
• Fire extinguisher
• Basic 1st aid kit adequate for the number of people in your rig

Recommended Equipment (in addition to the required list):
• A good pair of hiking boots and your camera!
• Vehicle specific parts + tools
• A good, clean spare air filter
• Skid plates
• Spare parts for CB (radio, mic, cord, antenna)

Staff will be assuring you bring the Required Equipment and go over your rig w/a checklist when you arrive and sign-in at the first nights gathering. Participants will not be allowed on the ride until the list of required items is fulfilled. This is for everyone's safety and enjoyment.
What to Expect: Everyone will be traveling on a variety of well-built logging roads and the occasional old grown-in roads. Pavement will also be mixed in here and there. This area is very remote and that needs to be respected.
Inter-rig communication will be by CB radio (Ch 16). Cell phone coverage is sketchy at best and is rendered near useless in Northwestern Maine area and cannot be relied upon 100%.
Given the history and the dusty nature of the roads, a dry (not oiled) air filter system is highly recommended. It has been proven that oiled air filters get clogged up within a short amount of time and can be very hard, if not near impossible, to clean out in the woods.
Each night we will all be camping in a different location, the ole point-to-point style. The tour will end midday on Monday to allow people ample time who have to travel a great distance to get back home. In years past we have woken to snowy topped tents, so please pack accordingly!
Ride Fees: Non-refundable $100 per vehicle (not per person!). There is a 5 rig minimum and a maximum 10 vehicle limit! Routes are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
There is only a 10 rig limit, so be sure to get your spot early!
