Re: Planes, Trains and Automobiles
For everyone who went into the NMW for the first time, or for those that this was the first time in such a remote area, what did you think? We're you prepared and feel comfortable? Was your vehicle set up the way you wanted? Hopefully everything went smoothly.
The staff is very knowledgeable so hopefully everyone felt well supported.

I was a little surprised there were only 2 Ham radios on the run. With the spread out nature of the NMW and a group of 10+ trucks the reach of the CBs died out about mid-pack. Even an inexpensive handheld radio can put out 5W and really extend the comms.

Re: Planes, Trains and Automobiles
As someone who will be going in July, I was wondering about a few things. I was originally going to go solo cause the kids usually have full weekends, but the family might join after all.
About what time does the actual ride end on Sunday and where will we be, when it does ? It sounds like the hike to the trains and the plane is on Sunday and I'm trying to get a sense of when we'll get home that evening.
Also, as far as the camping Saturday night, whats the bathroom situation, outhouses/port-o-lets or purely head out in the woods ? Want to make sure the family is prepped :-)
Thanks
Oz
BTW, Love the pics and vids.

Re: Planes, Trains and Automobiles
The ride will tentatively end around noon at Pittston Farms, or around one in Rockwood (20 miles Northwest of Greenville). This is all relevant to our ground speed too..
The hike into the B52 and the locomotives will both be on Saturday.
Saturdays camping will have 3 fire rings, 3 picnic tables and one outhouse.
Also to note, Walt is offering up his camp grounds on Moosehead Lake for anyone who wants to stay Friday night. There's PLENTY of room for RTT's and ground tents.

Re: Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Anyone going on the PTA trip is more than welcome to stay Friday night upta Walt's camp in Lily Bay just a short jaunt North of Greenville, and the others coming Saturday can drive up to Walt's camp to meet up with the Friday overnighters for the start of the driver's meeting @ 9am sharp!
Walt's camp is located at the end of Walter's Road in Lily Bay. Travel north on the Lily Bay Road exactly 12 miles from the blinking yellow light in downtown Greenville. Walter's Road is on the left. Go to the end, go through the gate, and you'll see a big silver barn. That's the place! You'll see my Tacoma right away and you'll know you're there.

I know you told what you have for a off-road trailer hitch but I can not find it any where.
Can you remind me where you posted it or resend it. Thanks.
