We really started "camping" This year. Mostly camp ground's to get my son's feet wet with the camping experience. So far so good. He loves it. So Im going to combine some photo's From here on out until we stop our adventures into this one thread. Next year in 2014 we plan to do Alot more camping as a family. And I plan to get out with you good folks here in the NMW atleast once a year.
We Mainly use a truck Bed tent, a full size air mattress on the floor. And I built a "Bunk" That goes from one bed rail to the other bed rail 5'x26" about the size of a toddler bed for our 4 year old to sleep on. Our feet go under his "Bunk". He Loves his "bed" and it works out great giving us all our own space.
We cook on a small portable grill with 1 lb. propane canisters. A Cooler Filled with ice for beverages and to keep meet and veggies cold. I have a tiny converter if needed for something. Any other food and plates/silverware/etc.. stay in a rubber maid tote. So Far its worked out pretty well.

    Anyways On with the pictures.

This is our first official camp out. The wife and I did a night by our selves with our new truck tent while our son stayed at a friends house. This was the 2nd anniversary of our daughters passing and we wanted a peaceful relaxing day together. Aug.3rd we visited Beaver brook camp ground together.

That tent seems to fit your truck perfectly Cool I'm always pleased/jealous to see families out camping and enjoying the great outdoors together.

    Thanks guys. On Both accounts.

The truck does its job. Its not exactly what I want. I would like to get a full size truck in a year or so And Haul a Small tag along or slide in for us if camping keeps going well with our son, My wife grew up camping. I did not. I enjoy it tho.

Maybe one day I will have a full size for DD/camping, But something like a LandRover D1 again with a RTT for exploring And expeditions with the fellah's. But thats a long ways away.

The truck has a few more steps to go until Im really satisfied with it for what I want it to do,look, and perform. For now its serving its purpose great for what I/We need it for. But once you start you always want more.

Bringing this back up. We bought a 2014 Skyline "SkyCat" with Bunks. We have been fairly busy and haven't gotten out But we are going on a couple 3 day trips coming up end of the month and August.

I had a f150 4.6/4r70w with 6300 tow package, as a tow rig, But had nothing but problems. I picked up a 00 Expedition Eddie Bauer with the 5.4 and 4r100 its rated to tow 7300 with the bigger motor and 4r100 trans. And this Also has the tow package...
